Tatcha Gold Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm

I’ve never had a such a gorgeous, and can I just say ‘fancy,’ lip balm! This one from Tatcha definitely takes the cake! But it’s beauty lies beyond that gorgeous 24-karat gold leaf!

The balm comes in a little pull-out drawer in the box, which is a lovely touch. The lid is plastic, and the 0.28oz  jar is glass.

The gold leaf is a very thin sheet laid on top of the product, that comes right up when you dip into it. The balm itself is a bit of a gel-like feel, not waxy or hard. The scent is mild, sweet nutty smell.

It is formulated without mineral oil, synthetic fragrances, sulfate detergents, parabens, PEGs, PPGs, DEA, TEA, urea or phthalates.

Freshly wiped of liquid lipstick, DRY lips

Hour later after applying Tatcha Gold Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm

My lips were having a particular dry day after wearing Colour Pop’s Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Solow. After an hour of wearing the balm, most gold flecks had dissipated, however, my lips were visibly more hydrated. More surprisingly, the lip balm was still on my lips, unlike most balms that are quickly absorbed and have me looking for more once I’m dried out again.

I could probably apply a little less and this would be a great base under any matte lipsticks to hold some moisture in.

For $36, this lip balm is an absolute luxury, but it delivers hydrating results, even for the driest of lips. www.Tatcha.com
