Castor Oil for Thicker Brows

One of my favorite beauty tips is the seemingly miraculous power of castor oil!

Years ago, I had a love affair with my tweezers and then a bi-weekly obsession with getting my brows threaded. One day, I looked in the mirror and realized my brows had been reduced to an approximate width of one or two hairs at best, that thinly arched over each of my eyes. In complete shock at how I ever got to this point, I began researching ways to help my brows grow back.

One of the more interesting things I found was castor oil.  Castor oil has been found to stimulate hair growth. It contains anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, which combined with it’s ability to stimulate circulation and moisturize existing hair, makes for a winning combination. However, keep in mind, if a hair follicle is severely damaged from tweezing/ waxing/ threading, there is the possibility the hair will never grow back.

Nightly while I was growing my brows in, I would apply a drop of castor oil into my brows and rub in gently.  I would take the excess left on my finger tips and rub into my eyelashes as well for good measure! Who can’t use thicker, longer eyelashes?! In addition to seeking out a highly skilled BROW EXPERT, my brows grew in beautifully. I still fill in a couple areas that never grew back, but overall, I have been ecstatic with the results.

Currently, I still use castor oil about 1-2 times per week on my brows and lashes to keep them healthy and happy. I’m currently on Accutane, which has caused some hair loss, due to unhappy, dried out hair follicles. So, in addition, I am mixing castor oil with my hair conditioner or coconut oil and doing scalp treatments. Instantly, my hair feels thicker and healthier, and after several treatments every 5-7 days, my hair doesn’t seem to be falling out as much.

If you try castor oil out, let me know how it works for you!
